Check for updates - nada
Check for beta updates - nada
A fresh download from the website actually took me backwards from 3.1.4 to 3.1.0.
I'm dead in the water. How the heck do I get 3.2??

Just did a fresh download on another computer. Upon launch the pop-up is "What's new in version 3.2?" but the installed versions is, once again, 3.1.0 which does not work. |

Hi, tried this (thanks btw) but it didn't work for me. You meant right click the Auctionsieve app and then put the files into the Contents/Java/ folder right?
Launched it again and I still get these "Failed to connect to ebay" and "java.net.socketexception: host is down" errors. Same as when I was on 3.1

I'm not sure where you are putting the files on your computer - I don't have a contents/java folder as part of my Auctionsieve install - contents/java is NOT your Auctionsieve folder.
You're looking for the folder containing:
AuctionSieve.exe
auctionsieve.jar
auctionsieve.properties
auctionsieve31.jar (or similar - and possibly [probably] more with different numbers)
pricehistory.txt
pricehistory.txt.bak
Uninstall.exe
watchlist.txt
watchlist.txt.bak
N.catch.sieve (where N as a number and there will be lots of these)
N.info.sieve (where N as a number and there will be lots of these)
N.seen.sieve (where N as a number and there will be lots of these)
N.trash.sieve (where N as a number and there will be lots of these)
Your shortcut should take you directly to AuctionSieve.exe.... and hence to this folder? |

Yes - I'm alive!
Also, I just pushed out a new update to fix problems with New Today sieves.
This was a tricky one!
eBay have done all sorts of sneaky things to ensure programs can't figure out whether an item is sponsored or not.
When you specify a time frame of New Today, AuctionSieve keeps looking for new results as long as items have the "New Listing" marker.
As soon as it finds one without it, it stops.
But eBay whacks a Sponsored item on the end of each page, and that item doesn't have the "New Listing" marker.
So AuctionSieve thinks it's done!
And I can't just look for the word Sponsored and ignore that item because the way they code their pages, every item actually has the "Sponsored" text!
It's just hidden in a very sneaky way for the regular items.
So I've coded AuctionSieve to skip past the first non-matching item and try the next.
Only if it finds two in a row will it stop. |
