I have been using AuctionSieve a lot and I like it but I hate Java all my experiences with Java based apps have been horrible!
FYI
My baptism of fire with Java was when Novell launched console one with Netware in the mid nineties, it was the quickest way I had ever seen to reduce a perfectly good machine to a crawl!

Anyway I started using AuctionSieve and all was fine but now it won't launch anymore I get lots of Java errors worse the uninstaller won't uninstall it just sits there doing nothing (more java)?

I can get it reinstalled by manually deleting everything but once I log of and back on again the errors return mad or what!

I get two error windows one on top of the other with this lot :-
Any ideas

Actually having just re read my post and the stream of Java waffle I has just relaised what is wrong for some reason Auction sieve (or some related Java components) having taken offence to my current desktop theme, If I switch XP back to windows classic it works fine but as soon as I go to any XP theme standard or via windows blinds it generates the errors

Hi Keith,

Yeah some aspects of Java just suck so much...
If you're Java savvy maybe you could try this.

- Download java 1.5
- Download the version of auctionsieve without the jre :
http://www.auctionsieve.com/download/InstData/Windows/NoVM/AuctionSieveSetup.exe

Install AS, specifying that it should use the 1.5 jre.

See if that solves the problem, allowing you to use your themes.

I need to create a new installer with 1.5 instead of 1.4

Thanks for the posts and feedbacks.

Nev

Yep tried that already, problem has gone away now that I have removed all the windows blinds stuff but now I think I have found the culprit

I noticed the skinning option offered with Tuneup.Utilities.2006 causes a similar problem even though I was using Windows Blinds bits of the Tuneup skins still seemed to be present I like auction sieve so I can easily do without some of these fancy desktop themes Smile

Obvious problem is my main PC has all sorts of junk on it (don't they all after a while) so it could be caused by anything

I have a laptop with auction sieve on as well I will do some test on that as I can re ghost that to a clean XP install in minutes
