This error is occurring again, so apparently something has changed at eBay. Is there a fix in the works?

Thanks,

-k

Hi Nev,

Unfortunately I too am finding this error again. Clicking "Yes" to retry works sometimes but not always.

Kind Regards
Andrew

Ok, new beta is out.
Let me know if it fixes everything.
If not, give me some more details about your searches.

I tried the new beta, and am getting the same errors. What specific info do you need? Can I send you my sieve files?

Yep you can send me your sieve files.
To find where the files are kept, look at the FAQ about backing up :
http://www.auctionsieve.com/support/faq/#backup_windows

I really just need to know what the search is and whether you've selected any special options in the Option dropdown panel - eg timeframe, location, etc.

Yep - loaded them up.
Still investigating - a bit short on time at the moment...

Hi Nev,

I too am still receiving the error with the beta (2.5.7.1). Clicking retry a few times seems to make it go away.

The specific search causing the error is hard to pin down, as I use the same search repeatedly in the sieve but searching different sites around the world...

The search term: (All of these words)
(1/14, 1/20, 1/21, 1/22, 1/23, 1/24, 1/25, 1/26, 1/28, 1/72, 1/76, 1/87, 1/92, 1/148) ("land rover*", landrove*, "range rover*", rangerover*, freelander*, LR2, LR3, LR4, evoque) -spline -halfsh* -drivesh* -ford -dale -"spark plu*" -bolts -avarus -transfer -magazi* -wiper*

The only option ticked is Located in Any Country

I search the following sites in this order: US - ebay.com, Netherlands - ebay.nl, France - ebay.fr, Germany - ebay.de, Singapore - ebay.com.sg, Spain - ebay.es, and Switzerland - ebay.ch

I don't think it's one of the last 2 countries causing the problem, I think it's somewhere in the middle of the list.

Cheers
Andrew

Ok, I've done some hacking and got a new beta out.

Thanks to everyone for your emails and feedback.

It appears, as pointed out by @wickmesh, the problem specifically affected sieves where you specify "Located in Any Country".

On eBay on their advanced search page this option doesn't work properly anymore. Instead you select it on eBay result pages in the left hand column.

So, I've put some extra code in that *I think* does the right thing.

Let me know how it works for you.

Also, as a bonus, you can now specify Condition in your search criteria.

BTW I'd like to put this out as a stable release as soon as possible, preferably tonight. If you can reply quickly as to whether it works, that'd be great!

I'm not getting the errors anymore, but I'm also not getting a lot of results. In fact, I'm getting 0 results on some sieves now. I'll try it again later to see if I get more hits...

The sieves that were returning 0 results are still returning 0 results. I edited the sieves and changed 'Located in/Any Country' to 'Available to/<my location>' and the errors came back immediately.

I am getting results now, however.
