I have an employee who's primary responsibilities require access to Auction Sieve. I was hoping this would be resolved but it's been more than a month and I'm going to have to lay her off next week. Happy to pay for your help, Nev, if this bug can be resolved. |

Sorry it's taken so long to reply.
Ok, the issue with that search is there are too many results for eBay.
Using the web interface, you can get to the first page of results (560,240 results for porsche -boxster):
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=porsche+-boxster&_sacat=0&_sop=1
But, if you go to the second page or any subsequent, you get nothing! :
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=porsche+-boxster&_sacat=0&_sop=1&_pgn=2
AuctionSieve thinks there should be more pages so it keeps going, ignoring the sponsored items, and just keeps getting nothing.
It also doesn't make any difference if you choose Newly listed or Ending soonest.
So the only solution for this is to restrict the search somehow - ie by specifying more keywords in the search term.
Test your search out on ebay.com and make sure you can get to the second page of results. |

Thanks for your reply.
Has something changed? I've been running this exact same search for years and years and it's really the only way I can effectively make AS work for me. |

Oooh interesting. I have a solution.
I recommend you just do a search for porsche! That brings back 2,264 results. Then just add boxster as a trash word.
There's something very strange that eBay is doing with that -boxster. Negative search terms seem to be working properly for regular eBay searches but they must have changed how it works for vehicle searches.
Anyway, the approach I mention above should work just fine. Let me know how you go. |

That doesn't do it. The reason it's only showing 2k+ results is that, for some reason, ebay is only showing results from the vehicle category even though I'm specifying all categories in my search. That doesn't help me as I'm primarily seeking vintage parts and accessories.
Any other ideas? |
