|
|
I've been having trouble with AuctionSieve not providing complete eBay searches. For example, when I searched tonight (4 Dec 2006) for "Bachman's Warbler" with AuctionSieve ("all categories" and "all of these words"), I got only ONE (1) result; when I searched using eBay's built-in search engine ("all categories"), I get EIGHT (8) results.
I've tried this with numerous seach terms, always with an incomplete result. This makes me wonder how many times I've depended on AuctionSieve but NOT found all the items available at that time on eBay. Anyone have an idea about why this is happening?
I queried the developer about this via e-mail a few weeks ago but did not get a response.
Thanks,
BILL |

Hello,
I very much suspect that Nev is either extremely busy at this point or away for the holidays. He usually "jumps to it" when people email or post on this board, so I suspect something is up.
I would advise you to just keep checking back on this board every few days. When Nev is back in action, I'm sure he'll be more than happy to look into whatever is going on with your AS.
He's such a helpful guy, trust me.

Hi Bill,
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner - my inbox overflows without mercy!
The discrepancy is probably due to the ebay store items. Doing a search right now on ebay I get 3 auction results and 7 ebay store results. AuctionSieve currently ignores the store results so it only returns the 3 auctions. Does that match what you're getting?
Did you enjoy your trip to Kangaroo Island?
Nev
PS Vix, extremely busy doesn't cover the half of it. I just finished and started a new contract (AuctionSieve is a spare time thing for me), am looking for a new house, the children have been sick, yada yada. And thanks for your vote of confidence! |

Just glad to see you back in action, Nev!
By the way, I mentioned AS as an Auction Resource on one of the eBay forums that I post regularly upon. You may see some extra traffic every once in a while due to that post. Or that's what I hope for anyways!

Just did a search for "FJÄLL RÄVEN" using the ebay.de option and got 0 returns, but going onto ebay.de I get 101 items. Any ideas why? I did a general search on both.
Cheers, Wadadli. |

Yo Wadadli,
There was a problem with international charcters like Ä. The latest beta fixes it! |

Thanks, for doing that Nev, makes it a lot easier to search for scandinavian items.
Great program! Cheers, Wadadli |
