are there any specific hardware upgrades that would make auctionsieve run smoother, faster (besides internet connection, it is fine) The problem I have is that some of the sieves I do are so big that auctionsieve "stalls". Any suggestions would be welcome. Oh and I run AMD athlon 1800 512 megs ram |

The most important thing is increasing the ram.
So upgradnig to 1gig of ram would be good. Ram is very cheap nowadays.
Then follow the instructions here:
http://www.auctionsieve.com/faq/#memory
but set the value higher - for example
lax.nl.java.option.java.heap.size.max=512000000
ie that gives AuctionSieve 512meg
The other thing is to try and optimise your sieve somehow.
Is it a search-based or category-based sieve?
Perhaps a search-based sieve with a couple of words to exclude will help. |

I will upgrade to 2 gig if I have too. Pictures I find very useful so that is not really an option. |

Go ahead - give it as much as you can!
I think the maximum heap size you can specify is a touch under 2 gig. |
