PostPosted: Mon Jan 29, 2007 1:31 am    Post subject: Losing Sieves aftr a hang!!!! :-( Any rescue? Reply with quote

This happened twice... I finally figured out exactly how it happens.

I ran a long search. I must have been low on memory because adding to trash was taking a very long time. I canceled out. When I restarted the sieve was gone from mylist of sieves. It was one of my main searches, I have years of trash words in it... is there any way to rescue it?

Are there any backups created?

Thanks!!

I'm planning on doing some work on all the file handling this saturday to make it more robust. (For other people's benefit, I'm talking to aj via email about this problem.)

I'm sorry to say that I also lost a whole bunch of work when running out of memory and having to force quit. (Sad

Hi Guys,

Did this get resolved because the same thing happens to me, I've lost a couple of sieves now, which is a real pain. I don't get any error messages when it happens, auctionsieve just freezes and when I come back in one of the sieves has gone.

I really love auctionsieve, i use it more than any other application.
