My watch list is still not being saved on exit in 2.5.3 ... although perhaps I am missing a logical step in the settings to acheive this ?

The items are added from the seive and appear in the watch list. I then exit the app without doing anything else and they have disappeared next time I load the app.

I am sure this is what I have done in previous versions of the app but perhaps something has changed.

First thing, have the auctions ended?
When they end, it removes them from the Watchlist and puts them in the Price History.

Further confirming, do you have a few sieves set up? And if you modify the criteria, quit the app and relaunch, they come back with all the changed details?

Also, go and change something in Tools->Options..., then quit and relaunch - has the change been saved and carried over?

Those things suggest that permissions are ok - and all your data is stored in the same directory/folder...

What OS are you using?

Ok, one thing that's possible - perhaps you've run the app with an admin account and it's created the watchlist.txt file - then, when you run it later as a normal user, it doesn't have write permissions. Uhmmmmm - no I'm not sure that's it - because I'm fairly sure you'd get an error popping up as soon as you add something to the watchlist.

You could also have a look at the folder where AS saves its data and maybe zip it up and send it to me for analysis.

Depending on your OS, it's located here:

Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\AuctionSieve

Windows Vista & 7:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\AuctionSieve

Mac OS X:
/Users/username/Library/Application Support/AuctionSieve

Linux:
~/.AuctionSieve
