Unpleasant surprise this afternoon. Category search sieves are failing, immediately stopping and pulling zero results. Retrys accomplish nothing.

However, sieves constructed by search term, and restricted to a specific category, those work.

Thanks Nev!

In the meantime, I went into the .info files and converted my category sieves into keyword searches - but no keyword - restricted to category. I'm no coder, so I'm very proud of myself. Razz When I get time, I'll switch them back, but keep those templates.

Awesome! Well done.

I've occasionally considered getting rid of category based sieves and auto-converting everyone's category based sieves into search based sieves with the appropriate settings.

How would you feel about that?

I prefer the search-based sieve because there are so many options to fine-tune the search.

I have noticed, though, that category-based sieves seem to finish faster, particularly in categories with many, many results. Or is that just my imagination?
