I am trying to figure out category numbers so I can refine my searches. I thought you used to be able to find the category #in the URL for auctions, but I can not see a pattern in the URLs. How can I locate category #s that I can use in AuctionSieve? Thank you.

Go here:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/allcategories/all-categories
As you mouse over each category, look at the url - it has the number.

And for other eBay sites, use the equivalent - eg for Australia:
http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/allcategories/all-categories

Germany:
http://www.ebay.de/sch/allcategories/all-categories

Also, to get to a subcategory, you need to click on one of the major categories.

Eg if you go to Games
http://www.ebay.com/sch/Games-/233/i.html
it then shows a list of subcategories on the left.

and you can keep drilling down.
