Hi Nev,

I'm doing a simple search and AS is generating an error:

Search: ebay.co.uk
Search term: artapo
All of these words
Search title & description
Include store items
Show Items from Worldwide

AS says the good old "eBay is returning error pages or pages I can't interpret, for
Search artapo
(they may have changed their pages, email me if the problem persists).
Do you want to keep trying?"

Clicking Yes has no effect, it has to be cancelled with No. AS is trying to recover the second page of results (100 of 2900) when the error occurs.

I *think* the problem is ebay doesn't like the search term artapo and changes it to artago - which brings up many pages of results. AS spots this, downloads the first page of artapo correctly (0 results) - but then tries to download the remaining pages of artapo based on the number of artago results! So either ebay have changed something, or there's an AS bug whereby the correct number of corrected results are not being picked up...

Not a mega urgent one to fix (I just keep hitting No) but it's there nevertheless!

Thanks
Andrew

Thanks Andrew.

Yes, you're right.
I've just tried it and can see the first page saying
"0 results for artapo, so we searched for artago"

I think I have code that handles that kind of thing but as you say, they probably changed things slightly.

I'll have a look tonight. Should be a quick fix.

Was going to comment on Trello, but there's no column for 2.7.9.1

Just updated to the new beta.

A few of my searches are now failing at 0 or 50. I think they're the ones that would pop up the dialog box (This brings up a lot of results, yada yada, do you wish to continue?). Now they're not bringing up the box, and quitting at 0 or 50.

I tried switching from All to New Today or End in 2 Days to reduce the results, but no effect.

I just ran AS on my laptop without updating to 2.7.9.1 and there was no problem, so it's definitely the beta that broke those searches.

Edit: Actually, now that I'm digging into my results, I've got two searches that don't pull up a lot of results, and are still refusing to search. So I don't know what the pattern is.

I'm going to use my laptop with 2.7.9 for now.

Hmm, I'm a bit confused by that.

The search for artapo definitely brings back zero results - so that's working correctly isn't it? Ie, this search:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xartapo.TRS0&_nkw=artapo&_sacat=0

What are the details for the other searches?

I finally figured it out!

I was really banging my head against the keyboard, trying to understand why some searches were failing in in 2.7.9.1 and not others.

Sellers to Exclude.

As soon as I cleared that field, the broken searches were fixed. Something you changed in the beta isn't playing well with that.
