|
|
For about a week now, when I start AuctionSieve, the items in my watchlist that have finished get their "Time left" field set to "Unknown" and the "Bids" field gets set to "-".
Items that have not finished are displayed normally.
I have to delete the offending items from the watchlist because they don't get removed, however they do show up in the price history.
I'm using AuctionSieve 1.6.8 on the UK site on a Mac running OSX 10.3.7.
It used to work! Have Ebay changed something? |

Possibly.
I'm still busy getting my new computer set up (amongst other things).
I'll try and get my development environment set up this weekend so I can look at it.

It has to do with the memory issue that can be fixed by adding the extra line to the .lax file.
When I deleted it this afternoon it fixed the problem with moving the auctions from the watchlist to Price History. However it still shows Unknown for when the auction ended, does not show the number of bids, doesn't show the high bidder in most cases, and the average price feature doesn't work.
I love this tool and don't want you to think I'm complaining, just wanted you to have more information to go on. |

I haven't made any changes to the memory allocation. Should I?

How many items have you got in your watchlist and price history?
I haven't done any tests to see how AS deals with large price histories.
Giving AuctionSieve more memory definitely can't hurt. |

Well even without the memory line it started doing it again.....
I have 121 items in my Price History and 7 in my Watchlist (though the auctions have ended). The 7 have been moved to the Price History tab, but didn't disappear from the Watchlist. |

Been happening on my computer too. Started sixteen days ago. Only occurs when an auction that has ended is refreshed. If I do not refresh after the auction ends, then it keeps the correct elapsed time. I have 130 items in my watch list and about 1600 in my price history.
Also the number of bids is not incremented and the winning bidder is not updated if there has been a change since I last refreshed the auction and when the auction ended.
Thanks |

Ok guys, I'm back in action. Development environment is set up on my new computer.
I've just released a new beta that should fix this problem.
Also added an option to check for beta updates on startup (which you'll have to turn on - it's off by default). |

Glad to see you are up and running again!
Beta dutifully downloaded and running. Will report anything unusual.
Cheers Nev,

That seems to have fixed it for me! I went through my history and refreshed all the ones that were showing "Unknown" and they all updated.
Thanks for the fix.

The only thing I noticed still not quite functioning properly is that when I pull in say 400 auctions ending today that the prices don't always update to the correct ending price.
This is in the main window only - so if you add to your watchlist it does record the ending price correctly... |

I've seen that before myself - sometimes the prices on the result pages on ebay are out of date. They must keep that summary information cached somewhere so it's potentially out of date. |
