|
|
Just downloaded Auctionsieve to Windows Vista desktop after using it for years on XP. Works fine except when I try to view an item I get the following popup with the red "X".
"Windows cannot find file ://c.\Program files\Auctionsieve\Imp.\view03HTML. Make sure you typed in correctly and then try again."
Any help or ideas on what could be wrong with my installation or settings would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Paul,
That's pretty odd. Is that a direct copy and paste of the error message or did you type that in manually?
I don't have Vista yet so I can't do any testing myself. However I've done some searching and seen some other websites mention the problem with some possible solutions. They'll take some coding so it will have to wait for a future release.

I am running vista on one of my machines,
I am using the AuctionSieveSetup-Jre.exe don't have any problems as a administrator.
If you right click on the auctionsieve.exe
Run as administrator
or
Property's --> Security Tab
make sure it has full access for your account.
If you are on a limited account or not giving full control it won't let you do some things due to vista security (UPA) and I would guess this is the problem.
Hope this helps.

I am having the same problem on vista. I've tried logging on as an administrator, and changing the security access to full access. I can view one item, but when I try to view another i get the same file missing message. Anyone, including at auction sieve, got any ideas or suggestions? It makes auction sive pretty useless... _________________ David |

I believe that it a file write error as vista is stopping the auctionsieve writing the temp file.
It is vista! it sucks I hated it so much went back to XP,
This is a long shot but try this program "TweakUAC" and turn off UAC was working on my system... with vista but is buggy.
Suggest a virtual machine or different OS for a more reliable experience. |

Hi guys,
The latest beta tries a different approach for launching your browser if you're running Vista.
Can you Vista users give it a try and let me know if it works?
(BTW That's Tools->Check for beta updates) |

|
|
Hi, not sure if i should post it here, but nevertheless here it goes...
I'm seeing also a strange behaviour when clicking to connect to eBay web.(launching IE7)
It simply shows some other things that i have searched before... and not the product i want now...
Today i'm getting the products i have checked (on eBay) yesterday...
When launching the browser do you use temporary files to save the Ebay ID's ??
best regards, & let me know if you need help on testing any code on Vista or XP... |

I am having the same problem. If I try to view I get:
" Firefox can't find the file at /C:/Program Files/AuctionSieve/tmp/view05.html."
I tried using IE7 and get basicly the same response. Can any view Ebay running Vista?

Ok, I think we've sorted out all the problems.
I'll be releasing another beta tonight with some fixes for other issues.
If anyone still has issues please reply!
I'll be doing a stable release in a few days assuming there are no problems with the beta. |
