|

For the last day or two I have been plagued by messages such as the following:
Failed to connect to ebay, Perhaps try again later.
java.net.UnknownHostException:cgi.ebay.com
I have no problem connecting to Ebay directly. Any suggestions? |

I decided to install another copy of Auctionsieve in a different folder and that worked. I then went back to the original and it wasn't working. That seems to suggest that the fault is on my computer, but very odd that someone else has had the same problem at the same time. |

Ok, I'll need some help from you guys.
First, an answer to what's causing the error :
- I don't know - everything seems to work fine for me
- when eBay rolls out new changes, it often randomly tries them out on a small number of people - only a few people have contacted me about errors, so I think this is what's happening - perhaps it's something to do with their "playground"
Second, how you can help :
- perform one of your searches which is having problems
- go to the folder/directory where you installed AuctionSieve
-- on a mac you may need to right click on the app and select "Show Package Contents"
- find a file called lastpage.html
- email it to me
Also, just quickly, what searches are you doing? |

I'm experiencing difficulties too-
It won't retrieve anything anymore.
"ebay is returning ebay pages I can't interpret...."
It's a pity. |

|
|
Hallo,
The last 2 days I have also had a problem with Auction Sieve.
What happens is that after I have seived and I press on view item I get taken to LCDs tvs regardless of what item I press on.
I use Vista and Firefox. This problem has really stopped me in my tracks.
One ongoing problem I have had since upgrading to Vista is that often when I click on view item I get an error message box pop saying the site is not accessible etc, however when I get on clicking it eventually works.
After a long sieving session sometimes I have umpteen message boxes that need to be individually clicked away. This problem though annoying is not a show stopper for me.
The other problem is a show stopper though, I can view the list of items in AS however the webbrowser does not show what it is I want to see.
I will email you my most recent lastpage file. _________________ Regards

Thanks everyone.
I'm working on a fix - should have a beta out sometime in the next day hopefully.

Out of interest I went back to the Auctionsieve that had caused the problems and this morning it worked fine. |

When eBay change their pages, there's often a period of time where they test them out randomly on people. Some times you'll get the new pages, other times you'll get the old ones. |

My AS is still displaying the same ebay item (a second hand LCD screen) no matter which sieve item I click on.
No change in the situation so far, I had hoped the problem would sort itself out. _________________ Regards

<sigh>
Life keeps getting in the way.
I've been able to do some testing and got one of the pages working.
Would still like to do some more before releasing a beta so it may be a day or 3 more before then. |
