Hi,
First of all I want to thank you for such an awesome work.
I've been using your application for some years now trying to collect games with a great result.
The problem is that with the new update, when I installed it on one of my macs (Ibook G4 Leopard) it erased completely all the catch and trash words.
I tried to transfer the information from my Imac 27 Snow Leopard (that had no problem with the update and still keeps the catch and trash words) but everytime I try to do it I got no result.
I tried to trash the application and install it again and then change the java folder inside the program, but it didn't work.
Each time I install the application on the Ibook I get the question for my favourite Ebay site and the first sieve.
I don't know what could I do now, as I searched the forum and didn't see a similar problem.

Ok, let's try and sort this out.

Do you still have the old version and can you run it?

There are two things that are relevant.

First of all, AuctionSieve used to store all the sieve info (trash words etc) inside the application icon itself. With version 2.1.0 this changed and the info now gets stored in ~/Library/Application Support/AuctionSieve

Second, an auto-update is different to re-installing the app again. Auto-updating just updated the internal java jar file and everything else inside the app icon remains the same. Re-installing the app is like starting with a fresh icon with no data.

So, before (and including) 2.1.0, you had to use auto-update so as to keep your data. A fresh install would result in no data.

From 2.1.0 onwards, you can use either auto-update or a fresh install because the data is stored in your user folder.

What this means in practice is, if you have a version older than 2.1.0, you should perform the auto-update to the latest version. Then run it and it should transfer your data to your user folder. Then you can do fresh installs because any future versions will look in there.

Now, given all that, does that help?

BTW to see the data in pre-2.1.0 versions, right-click on the AuctionSieve icon->Show package contents->Contents->Resources->Java
