I just installed the new security update 10.6.5 and now when I try to launch AuctionSieve I get an error message telling me AuctionSieve quit unexpectedly. This happens every time I try to launch. HELP!

Hmmm, I'm not sure I've updated my Mac yet - I'll do it this weekend and see if I get the same problem.

Doing some searching around on the Google it appears Apple Java updates often cause problems.

This post (especially read the comments) may be useful :

BTW Went hunting on the Apple support forums and got a pleasant surprise when I saw your post! Nice one.

Could be some useful info here:

As a note to myself, I may be able to do a new build with these updated locations :

I went through the routine of installing Java1.5.0 and still can not open AuctionSieve. Will look at the other link and see if I can get help there.

I have an old powerPC powerbook running 10.4 and would like to run AuctionSieve there until I get the problem resolved with my imac. I tried moving the AuctionSieve icon, but that did not work. What files do I need to move? Thank you.

All your data is stored here:
/Users/username/Library/Application Support/AuctionSieve

You can copy across everything in that folder.

Well...
I've updated my Mac to 10.6.5 and everything is still running fine.

Have you tried reinstalling AuctionSieve?

I reinstalled and now am running. It is version 2.5.0. The icon has changed from the orange sieve to the blue icon. I will use it for a while before I check for updates. Thank you for your help.

Great. It should be safe to update now that you're running the newer version with the blue icon.
