Hi Nev,
I'm pretty sure ebay have changed something again and AS has lost the ability to ignore the "More items related to" that are displayed below the real results. All my searches seem to be affected.
A good example:
Searching - ebay.co.uk
Search term - philosophy sound machine (All of these words)
Include Store Items
Show items From preferred locations UK Only
Should return only a single result (item #162245304260). But I'm seeing 40 results in AS, all sorts of junk including kids toy guns, noise making machines etc. When I search directly on ebay.co.uk, all the junk is in the "More items related to" section.
(The search is actually looking for quite a rare and expensive CD!)
Thanks

Hi Nev,
Any thoughts on this please?
Each search in my sieves is returning maybe 20-30 junk results, its a pain to wade through them (especially in the sieve with 162 searches)!!!
Thanks

Ok, finally got some time to look at this.
New beta is out with a fix! |

Hi Nev,
Thank you! New beta downloaded and tested. It certainly fixes the problem for the CD search noted.
...but... I'm not convinced it's catching them all still (e.g. I'm seeing lots of car parts when looking for diecast models), and it might be taking much longer to search than before (or it might be my stone age internet connection).
I'll give it a while to try it more thoroughly, and report back.
Thanks

If you can, give me the search specifics like in your first message. It's hugely helpful! |

Of course Nev, I will try to do so. It was getting late when I posted above and I should have already gone to bed!
(The problem is on the massive sieve where I'm seeing the biggest issues, there are 162 searches, and identifying which one is (ones are) the problem is a big challenge. http://www.auctionsieve.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=612 has been suggested for a while... ) |

Hi Nev,
OK, I think the specific issue mentioned in this thread is fixed in the beta - Thank you.
The speed issue mentioned above is just down to my internet connection, there is no AS problem.
Unfortunately my big sieve is just too complex to pick out the specific searches with a problem, so I cannot say if there is something else that may need fixing or not. As linked to directly above, there is something that would help...
However gut feeling says there may be a similar problem with ebay.de that the new beta is not catching - as a lot of the rubbish results I'm seeing in my big sieve have german titles... But using the specific example above and searching ebay.de does not bring up any rubbish, so who knows?
Kind Regards
