Ok, couple more things.
Right click on the AuctionSieve folder and select Properties and tell me the size of the folder (in KB or MB)
One thing you could try is run the installer again and choose a different installation directory, then run it and see if that still has the same Java, ie 1.6 instead of 1.8
The only way AuctionSieve would be using Java 1.6 is if you installed the AuctionSieveSetup-jre.exe version or there's Java 1.6 somewhere on your system and it's on your command path - we can look at that next depending on the outcome of the above. |

OK, I installed Auctionsieve to a new folder. Double-clicked on the icon, and was prompted to create my first eBay search. Java version 1.8.
When I copied my existing files over to this new AS folder - but NOT the 3 core files from the fresh download (AS application, AS .jar, and Uninstall) - and started up AS, I was back to Java version 1.6.
So what existing file would be reverting my AS back to the old Java version? |

Can you provide a list of the files you copied over?
And I'm a little confused about which direction you copied the files.
From old->new/fresh or new->old? |

OK, as you know, when you install AS for the first time, it's just the 3 core files, (AS application, AS .jar, and Uninstall). Nothing else
All the other files are from my backup folder, and they're the usual files that a long-time user would have. I copied all of them over INTO the NEW install folder, EXCEPT the backups of the 3 installed files.
I've got to do something like that, right? Those sieves represent a lot of invested time. I can't just start over again.
--> One of the backup files I'm copying over (but again, AS application, AS .jar, and Uninstall are NOT being copied) is causing the Java version to revert.
I don't know how I'd give you a list. They won't copy/paste here, and it's far too big for a screenshot. It's 281 files, all created in the normal course of AS use. |

I don't need to know about the .sieve files, so maybe just sort by type and take a screenshot of the rest. It shouldn't be very many.
We will get you going again with all your sieves!
If you like, we can do a video conference/screen share if we can work out a time. I'm in Sydney, Australia. Whereabouts are you? Is there any convenient time to hook up? |

There are a lot of executable jar files going back many moons. Can I get rid of those? |

Yes, you can get rid of all the old jar files - just keep auctionsieve.jar
Are you running the AuctionSieve.exe file?
Where does the shortcut point to?
Try removing the jre directory - that's not needed and may be the cause of the issue.
Also the lax and AuctionSieve.lax files |

Deleted all those junk files.
Fired up AS, and saw: Java version = 1.8.0_171
Yay!
I've ran AS a couple times now with all sieves running and no "OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space" pop-ups!
Thanks Nev for the help. |
