I have read all posts about problems on OS 10.4.x, but nobody seems to have mentioned 10.3.9.

I apologise now if starting a new topic is wrong!

Anyway, I am getting the bouncing icon in the dock for a few seconds, and then nothing.

It seems that any combination of OSX 10.3.9 and versions of Quicktime after 7.0.1 (ie 7.0.4, 7.1 etc) are bad for Java apps. Don't know why.

The quality of the Quicktime updates seems to be really bad in general. When a friend of mine with a MacBook Pro recently updated his Quicktime, he couldn't even boot his system! And it took a week before Apple released a fix.

You can maybe try and downgrade back to 7.0.1 or update to Tiger. Not great choices I know.

I have since upgraded to Tiger (10.4.8 as of Saturday!), and had totally forgotten about AuctionSieve, so this is a good reminder to give it another bash!

They've just released "Java for Mac OS X 10.3 Update 5"
"Addresses an issue in which some Java applications might not open after installing QuickTime 7.0.4 or later."
