I dont know why but when I click on a listing in auctionsieve the listing ebay brings up doesn't match-any Idea why. Im running vista and dont recall changing anything-Im pretty sure this is a new problem, I think they used to match.
Thanks
Mike

Hi Michael,

Hmm, that's the second person with that problem...

Can you give me the details of your search?
Also, does it happen for every auction you view or is it seemingly random?

Nev

Ok, I did a search for white plume mountain. AuctionSieve brings back 6 results (all of which look like the right product). For the troubleshooting process, I will click on the first item 3 times.

#1's title is "1978 AD&D RPG White Plume Mountain S2 Mono"

1st time I click it I get Item number: 170243906876-Auction Title is: LOT 6 Vintage AD&D Players Handbook Fiend Folio MORE!(ended)-This is in the right family of products(Dungeons and dragons gaming) but not the right item.
The 2nd time I try I get Item number: 280250350422 Title is: TSR 9064 AD&D Adventure Module U2 Danger at Dunwater(ENDED) (again, right family, wrong listing)
Third try I get Item number: 280250353105 TSR 9075 AD&D Adventure Module I6 Ravenloft OOP(Ended)(Same family)

I have not logged into ebay through this entire process.
I will shut ebay and auctionsieve down and try again.

1st retry-right family wrong listing (ended)
2nd retry-closer, right title, right family-still wrong listing(ended)
3rd retry-right family wrong listing (ended)

Then I logged in to ebay and did it again

1st right family wrong product.(ended
2nd has the right title but not the right listing Just as the 2nd retry above(ended)
3rd right family wrong product(ended)

Ok. Item numbers dont seem related-but every attempt gives me a listing that has ended-and the 2nd retry of the last two searches is the same. Those are the only constants I see.
Hope this helps, Id be glad to keep testing this product, it looks like It has a lot of potential. Let me know If you need me to do something else.
Mike

Are you on vista?

Can you do something for me?
Run AuctionSieve and go to Tools->Options...
Then click on the Browser tab and copy and send me the details in the large text box.

Oh, also what browser are you using?
Try clearing your cache and see if you then get the right items.

Hi Nev

Since I've got the same problem, I've joined this thread, as you requested. I'll send a PM with my details.

Regards

Richard

Ok, I am at a total loss at this stage.

Next thing to try -

Go to the C:\Program Files\AuctionSieve directory, zip up all the following files:
*.sieve
auctionsieve.properties
watchlist.txt
pricehistory.txt
and send it to me.

Failing that, I'm going to be buying a new computer in a week or so and I'll finally be installing Vista. Then I'll be able to try and replicate all these problems people keep having with Vista!

Hello again, it's a problem with vista and the last auctionsieve update. I uninstalled auctionsieve and reinstalled it and declined the update, everything seems to be back to normal!

So which version are you running now?

I'll look at all the changes I've made between that one and the current one to try and sort this out.
