Hi Nev,

The error message "ebay is returning error pages or results I can't interpret" is what I get for every single one of my sieves this morning. I cannot get any results at all. Am I alone in this?

I'm searching ebay.co.uk with AS 1.9.4. My sieves are a mixture of "including store items" and seperate "not including store items" and "store items only" - I do this as a catch all, although stores have now been made obsolete on ebay.co.uk. None are category searches (although a few are restricted to only one category via "only search in category").

I'd guess probably ebay have changed things *again*. I hope how AS 2.0 works means it will not matter when ebay change their pages...

Kind Regards
Andrew

Hmmn, now I'm at home everything seems to work perfectly.

I wonder if my work has changed its proxy server settings? (I have to tick Use Proxy when I'm at work, and untick it at home!) Or maybe whatever ebay problem was there has now been sorted out by ebay?

Kind Regards
Andrew

Another clue - from work AS reports no Beta updates (but it does not report that it cannot connect to the update server either).

From home, there is a Beta update available - and it's not a new one (available 22nd September, I've not installed it as it has corrections for ebay sites I don't use).

I think this is looking more and more like an issue with the proxy server at work...

...And back at work this morning it all seems perfect again, with no change to the proxy settings.

Sorry for crying wolf!

Kind Regards
Andrew

PS - Work finds the beta update available again now too.

I'm afraid it seems to be doing it again, and this time I'm sure it's a real problem.

It happens both at work and at home, only on specific searches within specific sieves, and it has been doing it consistently for several days. I can't see a pattern with the searches that cause the problem, some are category specific (top level) and some search a specific category (uk220). All that fail have "Search title and description" ticked, but there are some with that ticked that do not fail. Some of my sieves do not have a problem at all.

I'm searching ebay.co.uk with version 1.9.4.

Hi Nev,

1.9.4.2 seems to cure this problem completely. Thanks for the new version!

Kind Regards
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Just confirming - has 1.9.5 fixed everything?

Hi Nev,

Yes it has fixed every issue I was aware of - I've been using 1.9.5 since it became available, with no problems at all.

Thanks and Kind Regards
Andrew
